Weeks 24-28

Wow, I got behind on posting my weekly photos!

So that's how I look, as for how I feel...I feel huge! I know I still have almost three months and we're only going to be bigger, but it's not just in the belly that I feel huge. I'm having extensive swelling everyday. I know it is happening because of my job. I'm a bank teller, so I'm on my feet literally the entire 8 hours I'm on the clock, so by the end of my shift, my legs and ankles look huge! I have some swelling in my face and hands as well, but the swelling in my legs, ankles, and feet are the worst. If I have time to prop my feet up in the evenings, it might go away, but there are still mornings when I wake up and the swelling hasn't gone down much. It's hard to even get into shoes at the beginning of the day. I just keep telling myself that once the baby is born, all the swelling will go away, but I don't get to wear any of my cute summer dresses or capris because I don't want anyone to see my huge ankles.

On a positive note, I have an ultrasound on Tuesday! They are going to check to be sure that my placenta has moved up so I won't be at risk of placenta previa. I'm honestly not really worried about that since they say that most of the time the placenta moves up on it's own. I'm just excited to see my baby boy again!

Minky Blanket

I pulled out my sewing machine today for the first time in months. I made the first handmade item for the baby, a minky blanket.

I think it turned out pretty cute!

Bundles for Babies

A couple of weeks ago, I went to a Bundles for Babies class. The class lasted just a few hours and was taught by a consultant through the Airman & Family Readiness Center on base. They gave me lots of handouts on where to find support programs on base and information on what to expect with a newborn as well as budgeting tips. At the end of the class, I was given a "bundle" of baby items. Look at all the stuff we got for free!

Newborn Photos

It's become a big fad to get newborn photos professionally taken shortly after the baby is born. There are photo ideas all over Pinterest, so of course I've picked out my favorites.

Most of the ones I like involve big fluffy blankets. I also really don't like the ones where the baby is propped up on his hands or posed in some way. I like it when the baby looks like he's in a natural, comfortable position.

I also like the ones where the baby is swaddled up tight so you can only see the chunky cheeked faces sticking out.

I know it's cheesy, but I love these little bear ears!

Lullaby

I've given up my I-Pod to the baby. I really don't ever use it since I have music on my phone now, so I cleared all the music off and have been buying lullaby type music to load on it for the baby. I've found that they are so calming that I like to listen to them now. Here are my favorites so far:

I love Jewel's voice and the songs are so soft and soothing. $7.99 MP3 download on Amazon.

This one is just instrumental, so I like to listen to it while reading. $4.99 MP2 download on Amazon.

Very nice versions of well-known songs. I love that it has Canon in D and Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (two songs that were played at our wedding) $5.99 MP3 download on Amazon.

Nursery Progress

I've been busy, busy with the nursery decorating lately. Last weekend, I painted in there, and this week that furniture was delivered. Here are some pictures of the progress.

As you can see, Diesel has a new favorite spot to lay. As soon as I rolled out that rug he laid down.

This weekend, I got a small side table to sit next to the glider and hung the curtains. My mom is coming for a quick visit next weekend and will be delivering the glider. It still needs new covers on the cushions, but all of the furniture will be in place! Next up, shelves and other wall décor.

Weeks 21-23

Holy belly! I think I've hit the point where when a stranger looks at me, there's no doubt this is a pregnancy belly, not just a beer gut.
